Day 1

Antananarivo :

Upon Arrival at the Airport,  meet and greet by our representative. Then transfer to the hotel.

Day 2

Antananarivo - Antsirabe: 170km

After breakfast, You set off for Antsirabe, a thermal spring city. Drive through the rice fields and Redland villages. On the way you will visit a craft village of pottery made from clay. Then stop in Ambatolampy to visit a family run workshop of cooking pot made in recycled aluminum. You carry on to Antsirabe, a volcano region. City tour either on ricksaw or on bike. Sightseeing craft workshops of zebu horn, embroidery, car , bike miniature and hotel des thermes, a city architectural heritage. Overnight in Antsirabe hotel

Day 3

Antsirabe - Lake Tritriva- Antananarivo:200km :

Early departure for Lake Tritriva on the west part of the city: choosing either on bike or on trekking. This emerald green lake is a crater one. The lake is approximately 160 m deep. There are underground streams running between Tritriva and other lakes, providing a paradoxical phenomenon: The lake’s water level drops during the rainy season and rises when the dry season comes up. Due to the various rocks the water is flowing through until reaching lake Tritriva. The car will drop you off at the bifurcation on dusty road to Tritriva, cycling tour starts from there till Lake Tritriva (about 17km)through volcanic landscape and rice farming. farming activities set the pace in people daily life. The top of the lake is an eyrie position with a 360º view around the Tritriva region. Then You get on the car and drive back to Antananarivo without passing through the city till the north periphery. Lunch on the way back to Antananarivo Overnight in hotel

Day 4

Antananarivo - Ambohimanga - Anjozorobe: 100km

After breakfast we head for Ambohimanga or Blue Hill well known as UNESCO`s world heritage site in 2001. It is one of the twelve sacred hills during eighteenth century arourd the current Capital city. The Royal Hill of Ambohimanga consists of a royal city and burial site, and an ensemble of sacred places. It is associated with strong feelings of national identity, and has maintained its spiritual and sacred character both in ritual practice and the popular imagination for the past 500 years. It remains a place of worship to which pilgrims come from Madagascar and elsewhere.( After Ambohimanga visit we carry on to Anjozorobe. The forest corridor of Anjozorobe is a protected area. After a picnic lunch we start our trekking through the countryside passing through villages and fields to the parking lot of the protected area. This trek called community immersion will allow you to experience villagers daily life who live in the protected area and its surroundings. Crossing rice fields and visiting the Ambodipaiso and Antsahabe villages, you’ll understand how to produce the Malagasy’s basic food, the rice and its long step. During this tour, you will meet local craftsmen with their wickerwork and zebu cart manufacturing as well as get to know the social, architectural and cultural organization of Merina typical village. The “Community Immersion” tour will also give you the opportunity to learn more about the positive impacts of the conservation biodiversity on the local community. You can participate to planting trees from the community nursery. So, you contribute to the development of the community and the sustainable management of the site’s natural resources. Then in the evening, a night walk in the park to watch nocturnal lemurs such as the Lepilemur mustelinus or “Tsidy” and the Avahi laniger or “Fotsife” in Malagasy, chameleons( Calumma brevicornis, Calumma globifer and Calumna gastrotaenia); Frogs (Mantidactilus and gypheromantis). Also, a lot of various insects in the Anjozorobe Angavo forest, among them the stick insect (phasme), snakes and birds. After night walk, dinner and overnight at Saha Forest camp or similar.

Day 5

Anjozorobe - Mantasoa: 130km

In the morning day walk in the park of Anjozorobe forest corridor. with local guide you may see the Indri- Indri the largest lemur in the world and the Sifaka , a dancing lemur. These two lemurs are the highlights of the park. But you may cross other species of lemurs and reptiles. This park is a hotspot for bird watching. Flora is rich in this park apart from fauna, like native and endemics plants of tropical forest.(fern, hardwood, medicinal plants). The forest is considered sacred by local people who believe ancestors spirits live in the forest. After the day walk, we leave Anjozorobe and head for Mantasoa. Lunch on the way. We drive through Eucalyptus forest, rice fields and villages before joining the asphalt road, leading to the East part of Madagascar. We leave the main road in Manjakandriana town and keep on to dusty one till Mantasoa. Overnight at Mantasoa Lodge or similar.

Day 6

Mantasoa - Andasibe: 80km

 After breakfast, you can enjoy a fresh air and a stroll around the lake of Mantasoa or as optional activities such as pedal boat, punting on the lakeside or a lake tour on motorised boat. Then you keep on to Andasibe and stop at Madagascar exotic park to visit and get a sample views of fauna and flora reptiles: chameleons, snakes, crocodiles and lemurs. You get in the Eastern part of Madagascar with its tropical rainforest and end up in Andasibe for this day. Overnight in hotel

Day 7


Andasibe is famous throughout the world for being home of the largest lemurs in the world: the Indri-indri. This day is dedicated to discover the national park of Andasibe. Nature lovers will meet their expectations. In the morning, walking to watch the great biodiversity through the main trails. 14 species of lemurs both diurnal and nocturnal are the highlights of this park. The most common seen are the indri- indri, brown lemur and bamboo lemur. Frogs, geckos, chameleons and birds are plentiful. As a mid altitude rain forest the flora is rich, like orchids,(flowering season between September and January) tropical hardwood: rosewood, ebony, medicinal plants, palm trees. In the afternoon visit of the Lemurs Island and Crocodile park at Vakona reserve. In the evening, a night walk in Mitsinjo – Andasibe park. Local community and local guides run this park. It aims for the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable development of the Andasibe region. During the night walk we may spot nocturnal lemurs and chameleons (easily seen at night, no need for camouflage than during the day). Overnight in hotel

Day 8

Andasibe - Antananarivo: 140km

 After breakfast, travel back to Antananarivo. Stop at Lisy Art Gallery to enjoy the fine malagasy handicrafts, paintings, spices like vanilla, and bookshop about Madagascar. The Gallery has restaurant with malagasy meals. After Lunch, you drive westward of Antananarivo to Green Club health spa. Along the hikes in the national parks, reserve and protected areas you have seen the medicinal plants, now you will enjoy its benefits with aromatics massages at the Vaniala spa. This facility has covers an area of 3 hectares nestled with tropical plants and trees. Swimming pool, hammam, sauna and Jacuzzi are among the amenities available. Overnight at Green Club Health spa or similar.

Day 9

Antananarivo - Ampefy:120km

 after relax and chilling out at the spa, you keep going west to Ampefy. Ampefy is a volcanic region, on the way you will visit either the last sacred hill of Antananarivo: Antsahadinta with its royal compound or Lemurs park, a private botanical reserve with nine species of lemurs as main dwellers. Then after lunch we get on with main road till Ampefy. Overnight in hotel

Day 10


You have choices between these ones for the day if time allows. – Bike or Hike from Ampefy village to Lily waterfall. -canoeing on the kavitaha lake – visit of the geyser Overnight in hotel 

Day 11

Ampefy - Antananarivo

Morning drive back to Antananarivo, last shopping for cooking session with a Malagasy chef. You will learn and take part in the dinner preparation with a Malagasy chef. Farewell dinner from the cooking session.
